[SOLVED] Pipewire "Dummy Output" every other boot on Tiger Lake...

Hello,

I have always audio issues with Intel audio, nearly regardless of distro. Arch Linux is thus no exception, but I've taken a liking to Arch and really hope that this is an issue that can be solved, as I know this is a common issue. I've done my searching and browsing, and it seems like nothing gives me the full functionality I feel I should be getting (internal output and input working correctly every boot). On Arch, at least with my current config, this issue only arises every other boot, and is coupled with the system not shutting down or rebooting completely, and getting hung on something like "Reached Target: System Reboot".

My current configuration is as follows:

I'm not sure what my next steps are, or where to go next. These issues arose on my previous install of Arch which I did manually, I did an install this morning (same machine, wiped the drive) with archinstall, and the issues are still here.

Any help is appreciated, let me know if I need to post anything.

Most interesting to see which driver actually ends up driving would be a

lspci -k | grep -iEA3 'Audio|Multimedia'

between working and not working.

That said, your dspcfg config line is wrong it would have to be

snd_intel_dspcfg.dsp_driver=1

instead of a space, but I suggest you don't set that for now but instead try

module_blacklist=snd_soc_avs

which has come up with occasionally stealing devices from actual drivers.

Just tried that, there is no difference in the result of those commands, working audio or not, pre-blacklist or not:

so using the following options in my cmdline seems to have fixed it (watch me get these issues again in a day or two):

snd_hda_intel.dmic_detect=0 module_blacklist=snd_soc_avs snd_intel_dspcfg.dsp_driver=0

I'm gonna go ahead and mark this as solved, and I'll undo that if it changes.

I had the same issue on Gentoo. Turned out I had to install `sys-firmware/sof-firmware` and restart.
