After updating the Arch installation on my Dell XPS 9340, the display now shows what appears to be static and corruption primarily on the upper half of the screen primarily when movement is occurring. This is not just limited to graphical sessions and occurs in the TTYs as well. The main change I remember was updating from kernel 6.9.x to 6.10, but I cannot recall specific versions. This issues has been referenced by https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour … ug/2072973 on Ubuntu's bug tracker, so it is not limited to Arch Linux exclusively. I would really appreciate help resolving this, as I need this laptop for work.
I have already tried updating the systems firmware to no avail. Right now my system is fully updated. Thank you so much for the help.

Downgrading my kernel to an LTS kernel seems to resolve the issue for now, but I would like a better solution that leave me confident the problem will actually be resolved upstream.

I tested it against linux-git and had no luck so the problem does not seem to be known by the kernel devs. I am going to try to figure out how to bisect this at some point. I have never done that before so it might take a while or not work out. I would appreciate any help possible resolving this.

Someone else appears to have reported the bug to the kernel devs a few hours ago. Hopefully this will be fixed soon. https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=219093

I just got a 9340, and was able to fix this issue with the kernel parameter "i915.enable_psr=0" which disable's intel's panel self refresh.
