Wireless breaks after upgrade--SOLVED?

Hello all.  I did a smallish upgrade today.  My recollection is that it included udev.  At any rate, upon reboot, I got the following message:

Error for wireless request "Set Encode"
SET failed on device wlan ; Operation not supported.

I was able to manually start my wireless network.  I should note that I'm using ipw2100 and I start my network out of rc.conf.  I also have a udev rule that binds my wireless connection to the name wlan.

Here's a snippet from dmesg that might be material:

ieee80211_crypt: registered algorithm 'WEP'
ieee80211_crypt_wep: could not allocate crypto API arc4
wlan: could not initialize WEP: load module ieee80211_crypt_wep

Has anyone else seen this and know what might be the cause.  I'd appreciate any help.

Bob

Followup--I may have posted hastily.  After a couple of reboots, the network started up fine.  It looks like I was dealing with a temporary tear in the cosmic fabric.
