How to disable internal microphone except for when want to use it?
I did the zuckerberg trick of putting some black tape over the camera.
I had not thought about the mic at all as this was gift I forgot all about there being one until it was reminded to me.
How to disable when not in use to stop any possible snoopers, but still be able to activate easily if I want to have a voip call or suchlike?

You can use the mixer to disable it (alsa: amixer, alsamixer, pipewire's/pulseaudio's) or completely blacklist the kernel module (snd_soc_dmic...)
