Weird issue I have with my laptop's microphone.

Sorry I couldn't think of a better title,

I am using an old Toshiba laptop and I have this issue where every time I start it up and want to use the internal microphone, I would have to go into pavucontrol and change the microphone port from "Internal Microphone" to "Microphone (Unplugged)" otherwise the microphone would sound like if it was being fried, After shutting down the laptop and opening it again, It defaults back to "Internal Microphone" even if I have the "Set as default" checkmark checked for "Microphone (Unplugged)" in pavucontrol.

I am using pipewire with alsa, jack and pulse support.

The issue still persists while using pulseaudio instead of pipewire.

Thanks in advance.

You can try to switch priorities of the microphone sources or even disable one of them in WP configuration. Check this
