External monitor goes blank when trying highest resolution on amdgpu

Short version is: things used to work, and since a few days ago the external monitor goes blank if I try to set the highest resolution (2560x1440).

I installed `xf86-video-amdgpu` and updated other packages, and it triggered the issue. Since then, I've uninstalled, removed the `amdgpu` from `mkinitcpio.conf` "modules", and back, but no help there.

Sometimes the external monitor doesn't come on at all (unless I go to tty4 for instance), but if I disconnect / reconnect the hub (monitor connected to that since laptop doesn't have HDMI) it comes back on when using 1920x1080 resolution.

I've tried going through quite a few existing posts which seem similar for 2 days now, but haven't figured how to fix the issue yet.

Some info which might be useful:

I'm not sure, for instance, if this is related: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 8#p2109318

I've tried changing thunderbolt/usb4 and HDMI cables in case those were the issue, but no change.

I understand this might not be enough information, but appreciate any help and very happy to provide whatever other info needed here smile

Re: External monitor goes blank when trying highest resolution on amdgpu

So upon more investigation, I switched my "Thinkpad Thunderbolt 4 Workstation Dock" with a small, simpler "Lenovo Powered USB-C Travel Hub", and connecting the monitor to its HDMI gives me the right resolution.

I'd appreciate hints to how I could further diagnose the issue. I don't have another monitor to try things with.
