Today after doing a pacman upgrade of current pkgs, GnomeWeather and lmSensors plugins stopped working, they just crash and asks if I want to remove them from panel with the following error message:
The panel encountered a problem while loading "OAFIID:SensorsApplet".
The panel encountered a problem while loading "OAFIID:GNOME_GWeatherApplet".
launching them from a console, it says:
** (gnome-panel:3242): WARNING **: panel-applet-frame.c:1261: failed to load applet OAFIID:GNOME_GWeatherApplet:
Failed to resolve, or extend '!prefs_key=/apps/panel/applets/applet_15/prefs;background=none:;orient=down;size=x-small;locked_down=false
** (gnome-panel:3242): WARNING **: panel-applet-frame.c:1261: failed to load applet OAFIID:SensorsApplet:
Failed to resolve, or extend '!prefs_key=/apps/panel/applets/applet_16/prefs;background=none:;orient=down;size=x-small;locked_down=false
This were my last updates before plugins stopped working:
[02/12/07 13:14] synchronizing package lists
[02/12/07 13:14] starting full system upgrade
[02/12/07 13:30] upgraded dbus (1.0.2-2 -> 1.0.2-4)
[02/12/07 13:30] upgraded dbus-glib (0.72-1 -> 0.72-2)
[02/12/07 13:30] upgraded vim (7.0.178-1 -> 7.0.191-1)
[02/12/07 13:30] upgraded gvim (7.0.178-1 -> 7.0.191-1)
[02/12/07 13:31] upgraded iptables (1.3.7-1 -> 1.3.7-2)
[02/12/07 13:31] upgraded libpng (1.2.14-1 -> 1.2.16-1)
[02/12/07 13:31] upgraded udev (105-1 -> 105-3)
[02/12/07 13:31] upgraded wireshark (0.99.4-1 -> 0.99.5-1)
[02/12/07 13:31] upgraded xchat (2.6.8-1 -> 2.8.0-1)
update: tried a downgrade of dbus and dbus-glib, didnt work, still the same error
update2: I think its cause of a pacman package problem. Although I never uncommented the extra repository from my pacman.conf, it download gnome-vfs (2.14.2-1 -> 2.16.3-1), which it shouldnt, because I dont use gnome 2.16 yet; any idea how to get gnome-vfs 2.14.2-1 pkg again? I dont have it in my pacman cache (and I dont want to update go gnome 2.16 yet, thats why I use current repository)
update3: ok, its not in ftp://ftp.nluug.nl/pub/ibiblio/distributions/archlinux/ neither in ftp://ftp.tu-chemnitz.de/pub/linux/suns … archlinux/ , guess im screwed until I upgrade to gnome 2.16
Its a sad for this Arch'er , I discovered one of pacman flaws: you cant rollback packages
any help on this will be very appreciated...

Well, I forceibly removed gnome-vfs-2.16, and manually compiled and installed gnome-vfs-2.14 from source code.
$ ldconfig -v | grep gnome-vfs
libgnomevfs-2.so.0 -> libgnomevfs-2.so.0.1400.2
this is correct, before downgrading gnome-vfs it pointed to libgnomevfs-2.so.0.16; well, this is still not working. I also broke up somethings like Compiz when downgrading gnome-vfs, but well, anything for the sake of my lovely applets.
Please guys give me a hand here...
FINAL UPDATE: Well, to put an end to this, I solved the problem upgrading to Gnome 2.16, something that I did not want to do, but I had no choice. Thanks anyway. It is worth saying that pacman made the upgrade effortless without a single problem.
