WQHD Display 'sharpness' low with xrandr

Hi guys,

so I've been here before but I can not quite remember how i fixed the issue years ago.

I have a thinkpad x1 carbon with a WQHD display.

xrandr -q

displays a maximum resolution of 2560x1440. I can select it and leave it at that. But the text is small and I think it will hurt my eyes in the long run haha.

I've looked up HiDPI played around with it, but that did not help me, the blurryness is still there.

Do I have to install something additionally? I can't get my head around this, I'm totally missing something here.
