I have had this issue before:
Here:
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=291136
And here:
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=292259
I thought I figured out the reason. But I was wrong as this time it happened again immediately after updating my laptop.
I have no idea what is causing this. After I put my laptop to sleep, nothing can make it wake up again..

You never responded to https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 6#p2137636 or in that thread at all.
Don't create a new thread everytime you post.
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 7#p2150317 does no longer work?
But since it did: Is there a parallel windows installation?
Do you also have any issues when changing the mode from deep to s2idle?
Is deep sleeping (S3) officially supported by your system or did you have to entre some cheat codes into the BIOS to unlock it?
Did you recently update the firmware/BIOS?
Is the LTS kernel affected as well?
Is the misbehavior now reliable or still intermittent?

Thanks Seth. I am sorry, I thought it was not advisable to pump old threads.. So I just create a new issue everytime and I reference the old..
I haven't tried resetting the BIOS yet. I will do so at the soonest opportunity.
There is no parallel windows installation.
I have never heard of s2idle before..
Sleeping is supported, my machine is Lenovo Thinkpad T14 Gen1
I did not update the BIOS recently at all.
LTS kernel makes no difference.
It is intemittent, and I believe it is certainly due to an update which I made recently. I am certain it always happens after an update. Is there a way to list what I updated on a specific date?

You're not supposed to necrobump, but revisiting your old thread because an intermittent issue has returned after a month or so is perfectly fine and certainly better than abandoning threads.
I have never heard of s2idle before..
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Power_ … end_method
Is there a way to list what I updated on a specific date?
Not directly but the pacman log has timestamps.
systemd, kernel, OOT modules or firmware are the main contenders, there's notably https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=297431 / https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=296954
See the gilab bug in the first thread, there's an extra override required if you're using homed.

Thanks again Seth. I appreciate all the time and help you have repeatedly given me and others to maintain Archlinux.
Just for future reference, I checked the pacman log, and here are the lines that triggered this issue (after it had been dormant for many months): (I am unsure which line interfered with the internals/BIOS of the laptop)

What I did just now is I updated the BIOS (https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/gb/en/prod … s-laptops/). The issue was resolved by this.

I had the issue again after a system update.
I'm not sure what is causing it. But the only way I could resolve it was by opening the laptop, disconnecting the CMOS battery, and pressing the hardware reset button on the motherboard for 20 seconds.
I could have pressed that button through a tiny hole without opening the case, I think this would have done the same thing, I don't think there is a need to keep the battery disconnected, but I'm keeping it disconnected for now to see if this issue will repeat.
Thanks.

In doubt re-try the lts kernel - there've been a bunch of threads reg. S3 failure popping up that are all down to the 6.11 kernels.
