Session_type=Wayland on KDE Plasma?

When I run printenv | grep SESSION I see the below entry at the bottom:

XDG_SESSION_TYPE=wayland

While I do have Wayland installed I am running KDE Plasma. I ask because when I try to install some packages I get errors referencing Wayland and now that I have seen this I am wondering if perhaps this is why.

Thanks.

Re: Session_type=Wayland on KDE Plasma?

You also have XDG_SESSION_DESKTOP, which in case of a Plasma user should be KDE. Be it X11 or Wayland session.

PS It is always much easier to explain your actual problem so we can try to provide actual solution for that problem.

And plasma runs on wayland (per the defaults).

You ask?  But you didn't ask anything.  As for the errors, if you want help addressing them, you'll need to tell us what they are.

Yes, apparently I didn't actually ask my question. I was asking if that should be there or not because I've been getting some odd errors when trying to install some things. I realize I didn't post those particular errors, but I didn't keep any logs and don't have time to replicate at the moment. It was more of a quick check for something I wasn't able to find an answer on when I searched for it. I apologize.
