Openoffice problem

I don't know if it is gnome itself or jre, but for some reason I cannot do the two following things with open office, specifically writer.

1: I cannot make any changes from the options available in the "View" submenu. If I do then they are redone in 10 seconds.

2: I cannot exit properly. If I do then the widgets that were present on the window seem to mess up. For example, the close button goes away upon hovering over it (after exiting or quiting).

Does anyone know of a fix?

Re: Openoffice problem

Fixed it by deleting the .openoffice2 directory from home, running swriter before setting up with soffice (you guys should really remove that from the wiki).

Maybe you should remove it from the wiki. That's what it's there for.
