165hz external display cannot go past 119hz.

I have a dual GPU laptop with an Nvidia card and AMD Integrated GPU.

My built in screen has no problem producing the desired resolution/refresh rate of 1080p144hz, but my external monitor, which is able to go up to 1080p165hz cannot go past 119hz.

It is connected via an HDMI 2.1 cable, which does support 165hz and on Linux Mint & Windows its working just fine

On Arch, however, I cannot seem to get it to work.
I have tried on both X11 and Wayland distros (i3, KDE and currently on Hyprland)

xrandr is able to detect the 165hz and so is hyprctl monitors all, but the second you attempt to put the refresh rate on anything above 119hz its stuck at a black screen trying to connect (as if you're exceeding the possible refresh rate).

Additional info that might be helpful:

The monitor is Acer Technologies KG242Y P.
When displaying the monitors using hyprctl monitors all before 1080p165hz other resolutions such as 2160p at different hz are displayed and before them 1080p@60hz, which isn't the one currently selected.
I suspect that the issue might be similar to Windows's where there a different options for HDMI resolution and PC resolution, and the HDMI 1080p can't go past 120hz, whereas the PC one can, even though they're connected via the same port/cable.

Thanks for reading and apologies if the issue is too newbie even for this forum >.<
