Update to latest Virtualbox v7.1.0 no 3d support

After update to latest virtualbox version wayland guests no longer run. I cannot set 3d acceleration under any of the graphic controllers. I have the following packages installed.

virtualbox
virtualbox-ext-vnc
virtualbox-guest-iso
virtualbox-guest-utils
virtualbox-host-modules-arch

I run stock kernel [linux] package

modules:

lsmod | grep vb
vboxnetflt             40960  0
vboxnetadp             32768  0
vboxdrv               667648  2 vboxnetadp,vboxnetflt

I am running sway tiling window manager..

Is anyone else having the same issue or knows of a fix?

You can resize the video memory first, and then enable 3D acceleration.
That's how I enabled 3D acceleration.

No that does not work...

I have kind of figured out issue though I do not have a fix at the moment.

My Windows VM [yes I do have to use MS sometimes!!]  Already has 3D enabled and runs the VBoxSVGA controller. If I try to modify other VMs it will apply but setting gets reset to VMSVGA controller and it disables 3d acceleration.

Do not think its an Archlinux issue but this has only happened after last update to Virtualbox.

Looking at cli for more clues and a possible fix...

Kinda Resolved

Re: Update to latest Virtualbox v7.1.0 no 3d support

Update:

Figured out I have the wrong version of Virtualbox installed, but even with correct packages no VMs will run under Wayland.

UI works but I cannot start any VM.

In I3 window manager [Xorg] everything works, only wayland as a guest is a little flaky.

Not sure if I should be loading guest additions or other packages so will list what I have installed

virtualbox
virtualbox-guest-iso
virtualbox-host-modules-arch

My system is fully up to date and running 6.10.10 stock kernel and I am a member of vboxusers group
