Occasional "failed to mount on real root"

Sometimes when my system boots I get an error about the drive not being able to mount. Other times it boots fine. Any ideas why this might be?

Re: Occasional "failed to mount on real root"

Most likely not using persistent names in your fstab: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Persis … ice_naming

If that doesn't sufficiently explain it, post said fstab as well as

lsblk -f
fdisk -l

Re: Occasional "failed to mount on real root"

That error comes from the initramfs, so check your bootloader config, that's where you may not be using persistent names.

I think I see what you mean Scimmia. I'll try that. Thank you.
