Re: hal doesent mount certain drives

Use -> ls -l /dev/sdc to see the permissions needed.

Make sure you're in the right group -> /etc/group

Re: hal doesent mount certain drives

if I click on this icon, an error dialog appears: __ / Unable to mount media | ! | There is probably no media in the drive ...its the only one drive that does this......is it because of gnome-mount?...cant even mount with pmount...any help?

Re: hal doesent mount certain drives

Perhaps the filesystem isn't loaded by default? Try (as root) : `modprobe vfat` and see if it changes anything.

Re: hal doesent mount certain drives

I've just upgraded to kernel 2.6.20-3 and same problem. Hal doesn't mount my external hdd. No problem to mount it with a common mount.
