the problem lays oin the dev/sdc...on the beta version on a clean version it mounts my drive..this one is a audio player..since the latest hal it refuses to mount that drive...does any developer tell my where this error comes from? is it from hall... udev...?

Use -> ls -l /dev/sdc to see the permissions needed.
Make sure you're in the right group -> /etc/group

and im on storage.....im still having the problm...its seems to be the only disk that wont mount auto...

this is the first time i had this problm...can some one help...it simple refuses to mount...."cannot mount"...anyhelp? how come this happens after a few updates after i installed the beta version.....before that it was working ok....even since gimmick....

if I click on this icon, an error dialog appears: __ / Unable to mount media | ! | There is probably no media in the drive ...its the only one drive that does this......is it because of gnome-mount?...cant even mount with pmount...any help?

Perhaps the filesystem isn't loaded by default? Try (as root) : `modprobe vfat` and see if it changes anything.

nothing happens..as strange at it seems even on ubuntu i tried and it happens exactly the same..i install ubuntu on vmware just to see...can any one help....

I've just upgraded to kernel 2.6.20-3 and same problem. Hal doesn't mount my external hdd. No problem to mount it with a common mount.
