hello my arch crew
My last point for the 3.0 release is the kernel. I will release MeoW a week later , because I think I will recompile my kernel. My question is , if I use the 2.6.20 source and compile it with arch config file and some modifications in sata ( we compile sata/scsi directly into the kernel ) , is the kernel compitable with the nvidia / ati modules on arch repo ?
Squash is in repo and aufs woul'd be compiled as module ( but the source will be ksize patched )
( I don't think that the arch crew will patch his kernel with ksize officially , because that I must recompile to use aufs )

Assuming your ksize patch doesnt affect it, if you keep all the naming, and all other configuration the same apart from sata, then yes, you should get away with it.

ok , but if i compile sata stuff exact same like the arch kernel one , how can I make my initrd ( used by linux live ) , to use first every time sata and libata like the mkinitcpio from arch. Can I solve this with preloaded modules ?

I'm very interested in meow, (i'm an arch fan ) but i'm in a search for a small usb (256 Mb) distro. Is it possible to tweak meow like i did with some slax versions to get what i want? Using modules and all...the structure is the same?
Keep swimming.
