access right problem

i installed open office and now when i try to start it i get eror

try running the binary 'soffice' found somewhere in /opt/openoffice (or some similar path). Does it give you the same error?

Can you run the application as root?

in your home directory there is a folder called .openoffice.org2
Just change the owner to your account instead of root

sudo chown -R *name* ~/.openoffice.org2
