1 How to select fastest mirrors to repositories as I chose nearest country but downloads are very slow (My country was not in the list)

2 Is there any GUI package manager for Arch Linux .

3 How often I need to update (my country has slow internet)

Thank you

Re: Just Installed Arch Linux I have some questions

Hello, welcome on Arch Linux!

1) What is your country?
2) Yes, there are some, for example pamac (https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/pamac-all)
3) I am personally updating my system every friday evening. It depends on you. Once a week is in my opinion optimal.

As often as possible:

If you have a bad internet connection Arch might not be the best fit for you.

Re: Just Installed Arch Linux I have some questions

1) use reflector https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Reflector
2) most GUI tools also include AUR helpers or other non-repo stuff like flatpak - pacman is CLI-only
3) pretty much daily to at max weekly - anything less frequent can cause issues

None that are supported.
See https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/AUR_helpers for more info.

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky

Re: Just Installed Arch Linux I have some questions

Frequent updates are not likely to have as big of an impact on total network use as you may be suspecting.  Frequent updates just spread out the network use rather than having one huge download session less frequently.  If you only have periodic access to a good connection (e.g., very limited bandwidth at home, but you get to a good network every couple weeks), then sporadic updates make sense.  But if you just have limited bandwidth all the time, more frequent updates would likely be easier / better.

That said, while the advice in previous posts of updating daily to weekly is good advice, arch systems can typically do just fine with longer intervals between updates.  Monthly updates will typically be fine - there will just be a whole lot to download and upgrade every month.  Some of my systems are updated once or twice a week, but one that has been running well for nearly a decade on the same installation currently gets updates much more sporadically: I checked the log and it averages about an update every 2 months, but there are many much longer intervals in there too.

Note that I'm not recommending leaving an arch system so long without an update.  But the risk of less frequent updates is often massively overstated.
