Ever since I first set up KWallet with a GPG key, it has been a bit buggy. Something somewhere needs to wait 30 seconds to time out before it will prompt me for the password to unlock my keyring, and it apparently notifies the application that authorization failed before prompting me for my password. Applications that require the keyring to be unlocked in order to start (such as Nheko and KGpg itself) had to be started multiple times, once to get the prompt to show up and again to actually use it.
A while ago, due to circumstances I've forgotten, I stopped being prompted for a password entirely, and no application that depended on my keyring being unlocked would function at all. Opening KWallet and clicking the Unlock button would just cause KWallet to hang. Additionally, regardless of what I was doing, I'd get a popup every few minutes saying kwalletd had failed to decrypt my wallet, citing "GPG error was: No secret key". After a bit of fruitless googling, I figured out that if I created an entirely new keyring, it would work, but my original keyring would not. After a bit more fruitless troubleshooting, including reinstalling both gpg and kwallet and trying unsuccessfully to even figure out what their relationship was, I decided to throw in the towel, delete my entire keyring, and recreate it from scratch, re-entering all of the passwords stored therein. It worked fine for a while until I performed a system upgrade a few days ago and the same problem came back. I don't want keep doing that every couple of months. What am I doing wrong and how can I fix it?
I'm not sure what logs would be relevant here, but I'd be happy to post them.
