Anyone had any luck with so-dim ECC ram on laptops with AMD PRO cpus?

I've used many desktops with AMD PRO CPUs... officially, AMD spec always say the recent (last 6yrs or so) CPUS and APUS with "PRO" in the name will support ECC ram "if the motherboard supports it". But i have always used all sorts of motherboards which either never mentions ECC anywhere in the spec or manual, or explicitly says "ECC not supported", and I could *always* use ECC ram with actual ECC support reported by the kernel.

but with laptop ECC SODIM it is too expensive to "just try it" like I do with desktop smile

My CPU is "AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 6650U" (amd have the same disclaimer: "ECC support if the motherboard supports it"). It doesn't have any soldered RAM, but two SO-DIM slots. It's a relatively enterprise-y model from HP (elitebook G9, which surprise, doesn't mention ecc support or not anywhere). But I would really like some personal anecdotes of success before blowing some $400 on two modules of the smallest size i can buy here.
