GNOME + Beryl = white screen

Hi,

having installed GNOME and then Beryl, I followed the instructions on the Arch wiki to use Beryl from inside GNOME. GNOME starts normally, I see the good old regular menus on top of the screen appearing for a moment and then the screen goes white. I need to kill X using Ctrl+Alt+Backspace to get back to GDM. So obviously, I'm looking for a way to either ditch Beryl and use good old Metacity or, even better, fix the problem. big_smile Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks !

Re: GNOME + Beryl = white screen

you could just switch vc and uninstall or kill beryl.
or disable the composite extention.
