vaapi initialize failed

I want to record but vaapi fails to initialize

❯ vainfo
Trying display: wayland
vaInitialize failed with error code -1 (unknown libva error),exit

and VDPAU also has issue

❯ vdpauinfo
display: :0   screen: 0
Failed to open VDPAU backend libvdpau_nvidia.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Error creating VDPAU device: 1

I use an amd gpu.

Which points to both of these being incorrectly setup. is mesa-vdpau installed? What's your output for

pacman -Qs mesa
printenv

and a xorg log: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Xorg#General -- did you used to use a nvidia gpu and might have configs floating around that are wrong now?
