i know from one forum to another  any smiley won't work; for example some have : roll : while others have : rolleyes :

is there any place where I can find a list of what emoticons/smileys work on this forum ?

private joke ? I don't understand.

as some  : <smiley> : work, I guess there is a way to "moderate" dry writings by adding non-verbal-expressive "signs"/images.

Please always remember to mark resolved threads by editing your initial posts subject - so others will know that there's no task left, but maybe a solution to find.

Re: [SOLVED] forum's smileys/emoticons

My post was not a joke.  "Failbook" is a reference to "facebook" where there is no meaningful communication but only memes / smileys / emojis and related BS.  This forum has for many years been a refuge from that flavor of decline in the interwebs and I suspected quite incorrectly that it would not have these smileys.  Apparently now I'm eating both my hat and some crow: I apologize for being completely incorrect.

Rest assured, though, when the new forum software (e.g. discourse or is it discord, I always get the two confused), you'll have a wealth of fancy new ways to not express any real meaning in posts.

Yeah I have been bitten by that a few times now .. I have a shortcut to rofi-emoji so I can quickly pick one which BBS then just turns into a "?" which sometimes makes a sentence look like a question tongue
