Compute freezes after closing lid for long w/ external monitor plugged

As the title says, my computer freezes after closing the lid for a while with external monitor plugged in. Most of the time (like 50% of the time) when I close the lid and resume it, everything freezes in the lockscreen (except the digital clock, the mouse), and I can't enter the password prompt. Sometimes I can enter the password prompt, but again like 50% of the time, when I successfully entered the password prompt, there are GUI glitches such as that shown here. Im using kde plasma with a kernel version of 6.11.5. I don't know if this is a kernel problem or a problem with the kwin compositor. Anyways here is the log. The message

kwin_wayland_drm: Pageflip timed out! This is a kernel bug

in particular caught my eye. After some googling, it turns out others having the same error message faces freezes, but there aren't really any solution to this besides changing the kernel version. Any idea what may be the cause of this issue? Thanks in advance.

Which kernel are you currently using? If you are currently using the "linux" one it would be good if you could check if this issue is also present in the "linux-lts" package ..

The problem persists even when using linux-lts. I suspect it's related to amd-gpu resets then since others with amd-gpu resets also experience the same problem as me.

Is this issue still present with the latest linux package from 6.12 series? The AMD people always fix (and break) a ton of stuff in major releases big_smile
