I’ve never had any issues connecting my Bluetooth headphones to my laptop and hearing audio through them before, but yesterday, when I connected them through Bluetoothctl (as usual), the audio came through my laptop speakers instead of the headphones, even though they appeared to be connected. I tested the headphones with my smartphone, and they work fine there, so the problem seems to be with my laptop.
I don’t recall making any changes to my Bluetooth settings recently. Has anyone experienced something similar or have any ideas on how to fix this?
Note: I noticed that when I run Bluetoothctl the following appears:
[bluetooth]# hci0 new_settings: powered connectable discoverable bondable ssp br/edr le secure-conn wide-band-speech
I’m not sure if this was there before.

Which audio daemon are you using? You'll potentially need to set the desired output to the bluetooth device .. I'm usually doing that via pavucontrol since I'm using pulseaudio
