Re: Constant Input/Output Error [Solved]

This all looks ok, unless there's ome egregious nonsense in /etc/mkinitcpio.conf
You're running mkinitcpio as root (sudo or otherwise)?
Do you get IO errors again when running this?

Or does

sudo getfattr /boot/initramfs-linux-lts.img

show the file being immutable?

Re: Constant Input/Output Error [Solved]

Hello again. Was quite busy last few days, but today I'm back. And magically fixed lots of issues - did pacman -Syu from chroot - and now my nvidia and wifi issues are gone. Caught IO error with Stellaris with CPU multiplier being 35

So, to recap: there is a problem when an EXT4 I/O Errors are thrown and /home partition being corrupted. It looks like those errors are thrown during heavy CPU loads, and also lowering CPU clocks seem to help, but not always. Also removing drives does help. Adjusting power management on SATA and PCIe does nothing. Honestly looks like it's a hardware issue and almost like there is not enough power for the CPU and drives, but how is it possible and why did it emerge so suddenly - I have no idea...

Re: Constant Input/Output Error [Solved]

I have the same issue with nvme. Have you try to monitor 3VCC bus during game/stresstest? I've measured 3.083V on the bus with my multimeter instead of 3.15V lower limit. I'll plan to replace my PSU to some newer one in a short time.

Re: Constant Input/Output Error [Solved]

I've replaced my PSU and the problem gone. Now my 3VCC bus never go lover 3.4v and no NVME falies.

Re: Constant Input/Output Error [Solved]

Hello again. Sorry for no updates for 2 month, but now I'm finally ready to share the reason of the problem. Don't get mad, but... The problem is on hardware side. Thing is, I was moving to another apartment and after transporting my PC I've decided to remove power cable from MB (including 2 8-pin CPU cables) and graphics card, blown on them and reattached them back... It fixed the problem! It had returned a few times, but ultimately I was able to fix it with the same techpriest ritual. So anyway - big thanks for all the help! And as a sign of appreciation, where can I donate money?

Not "mad", triumphant! tongue

Please always remember to mark resolved threads by editing your initial posts subject - so others will know that there's no task left, but maybe a solution to find.
Thanks.
