Windows Like login manager for functionallity

I have always loved how in windows we can do a super key + l to lock the screen and the apps keep running in background in the state i left them in. I want to know if  there is a way to achive it in linux

What environment are you using? For example with KDE, this works out of the box. Did you check https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Session_lock ?
