Pacman: SortMirrors script messed up speeds

Well, I read before that I shouldn't use the sortmirrors script, but I wanted to see if I could get better speeds if it sorted them by ping(I beleive thats how it works?). Well unfortunately, I now only get 50-150kb/s compared to my normal 500kb/s I got on the mirrors before. Is there any way to fix this?

Restore your mirror lists from the backup you made before running an experimental script on them? Or just pull the defaults off the ISO (assuming you used the defaults before).

Experimental script? There's no warning and it comes with default install. I hope it's not really that experimental...

I'll add this- pacman 3, which is coming very soon, has a better variation of this script called 'rankmirrors', which does a better job of sorting them, and doesn't modify your original mirrorlists unless you explicitly tell it to. You can get it here if you want:

rankmirrors seems really nice. I particularly like the -f option.

Thank you, very much! cool
