I have both KDE and Hyprland on my PC. I had previously been using KDE but thought to give Hyprland a try. And so I had been using it for a couple of days perfectly fine. But today, I did pacman -Syu while I was working on some things, and later when I turned on my PC, Hyprland wouln't start. I enter my password and screen goes black, and after a few seconds, I'm brought back to the login screen. I can use KDE perfectly fine, but Hyprland won't start. When I exec the command Hyprland through the console it seems to open a window normally, and I can't see anything weird on the log (though I'm no expert). I tried uninstalling hyprland and all the apps that I use it with, but with no luck.

If anyone has the same issue or knows what's going on, it'd be appreciated.

Are you using pacman v7 with libalpm v15?
I had a similar issue with my work PC. Issue was that dependencies broke after pacman -Syu because the package upgrades for hyprland require libalpm v15.

Ok, so I realized even after removing hyprland, the command "Hyprland" would still load. So, I did a little digging and realized there was another binary called Hyprland being executed. I removed it, reinstalled hyprland and now it works. I don't know how or why, but it's solved lmao.
