1. yes, sure. pacman -S ktorrent should be ok
2. I'm not very sure what your talking about, but if it's how you make nautilus open the folders in just one window you have to select Edit - Preferences - Behavior - Always open in browser windows

2.If you whant to be able to combine windows (so you select them from a tab-panel thingy in the window) you should maybe check out fluxbox for wm.

root can do EVERYTHING. take care.
sudo can do anything you put it to do, but you have to configure it first (visudo). By default in arch sudo is not configured, so you cannot sudo nothing (arch is not ubuntu). try visudo first.
read man sudo, man sudoers, it's all in there. the examples part in sudoers is what you want.
also i remember reading something in the wiki a long time ago, look for it. also search the forum.

open a terminal and try to execute ktorrent. if it's not working then probably it's not in your path. if so try /opt/kde/bin/ktorrent
