Hey, I'm using my headset mic, headset in plugged in the back with a splitter.
I can't get the mic to work, mictests.com records the media playing instead of my mic input for some reason.

Any help would be appreciated, any relevant forum, wiki or troubleshooting steps.
Thanks

I find it weird that this should be an alder lake chip but still on the old HDA driver. Are you setting dmic_detect=0 or intel_dspcfg somewhere?
If not what do you get from
sudo fuser -v /dev/snd/*
amixer -c0FWIW in terms of detection it looks like it's considering the rear mic unavailable, so maybe try
pactl set-source-port 2 analog-input-rear-micOffline

Not sure what you're talking about, could you elaborate ?

This is pretty retarded but somehow I had the mic cable plugged in the wrong slot, I'm pretty sure i had tried this a billion times but now it works ;(
Not sure why it didn't work earlier in same slot, i always used the MIC in one but it still didn't detect, changed them around last night trying to fix this, so it was plugged in the line in slot
