I am using a Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon Gen 12 and I am experiencing an issue whereby two-finger scrolling (or really any multi-touch inputs) seem to be inconsistently read. So if e.g. I use two finger scrolling to scroll up and down on a webpage, seemingly randomly it will act as though I removed one finger (so the cursor will continue moving) or both fingers (so the cursor stops moving entirely).
libinput debug-events
confirms as much, in the middle of a long chain of POINTER_SCROLL_FINGER events will suddenly change to POINTER_MOTION for seemingly no reason. This issue occurs on both Wayland and Xorg. I have searched around but have been unable to find anyone reporting similar issues (usually just multitouch not working entirely).
EDIT: Using xf86-input-synaptics does seem to fix this particular issue, though I'd prefer a solution that doesn't force me to use Xorg
