fbpdf pdf frame buffer utility showing no output

I have installed the fbpdf-git package from both the AUR and from the maintainer's github page and compiled it according to the AUR's Makefile diff which removed a couple of libraries.

I wondered if anyone is using this utility in Arch, generally, successfully.

I am on kitty terminal linux 6.6.65-1-lts using bash.

I have the same issue.
Using kitty fbpdf doesn't show any output at all. Using tty (without xorg session) fbpdf shows output only when interrupted with Ctrl+C, interestingly, if I try to change page or anything else, fbpdf will do it and on interruption will show different page. But I don't suppose this is the intended way of working.
So I am also interested in the answer to your question.

[update] Tried booting arch on another pc, fbpdf works like a charm. No idea, what is the difference.
