On the venerable Asus MV-50 with VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA G96CM [GeForce 9600M GS] (rev a1).
I've tried with the HMDI port as well. Same behavior. When I first install, both screens function. I can mouse between them and both show up in the settings >> Display. They function until I have to reboot. Then after starting, the login prompt is on the external monitor. Once mouse moves over to laptop display, that shows smeared artifacts from boot screen. Mouse cursor is clear and moves but the display goes dark except for some misaligned text. As Im new to Linux and Arch Linux I appreciate any help I can get. Not sure which log files to view as it's happening.
I DO have Deskflow installed as a soft kvm, this is working well, even with the laptop display freaking out.
