Webcam stopped working on gnome

The follwing external webcam stopped working on my arch+gnome laptop:

    Bus 001 Device 011: ID 1b3f:2247 Generalplus Technology Inc. GENERAL WEBCAM

It was working perfectly until recently

kernel 6.12.8-arch1-1 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Thu, 02 Jan 2025 22:52:26 +0000 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Any advice would be helpful.

Did you reboot your device since? Is there any error in the dmesg?

Also could you try an older kernel to see if it still works?

sudo pacman -U https://archive.archlinux.org/packages/l/linux/linux-6.12.8.arch1-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst
