I have this issue because i use DVORAK while typing and stuff but when im gaming i use just the normal layout and the thing is while im gaming it just changes in the middle of the game. i use kde.
And i dont think i'm pressing ALT + SHIFT because i dont need to be touching the keyboard for it to happen. because i tried to take one of the layouts out and play but i kind of still happend
i say kind of because it like tries to change the layout like it makes the sound of like a usb device connecting
but nothing happens
but the game freezes for like 1-2 seconds
and then everything is normal
and it does not happen while im not playing a specific game
what i mean is it only happens on 1 game and the game is on STEAM

Any reason you're not mentioning the name of "game"? Native or proton, does it make a difference? Also symptoms and cause don't really sound related to the layout.
Online
it happens while i'm playing Splitgate
and it supports linux natively

i am trying to uninstall and install it again now ill see what is the result when its installed again

Which is most likely what's happening
How do you switch the layout? Group toggle or setxkbmap?
setxkbmap -print -query
But if the game relies on keyboard input, it's probably not helpful to have it re-connect all the time?

Does the reconnect somehow show up in your system journal?

i actually think that i found the problem. I think that its my mouse cord that is not really good
Offline
i only encountered the problem while gaming because its the only time that i move my mouse more

I can relate to this: recently my keyboard started to act weird - seemlingly at random
it took me a while to notice it always happened when my cat either jumped up onto my desk or down from it - turned out the cable of the keyboard got somehow pinched right at the connector hence it was hard to spot in the first place
btw: I'm not quite sure if I understand the topic correctly - but if the layourlt change has effect to the game's controls then this is a flaw of how its dev has implemented the input
modern games often rely on a keys scancode which gives information at which position a key was pressed - this is idependent of the current layout so tge first key in the top row will always be the first key in the top row - but the set layout matters if it is recognized as an Q, an A or whatever a given layout sets for this key
but if a game not checks for the scancode but rather the resulting letter after the layout conversion it matters a lot if the key between T and U is a Y or a Z
it can also make some inputs impossible if some input on the default US layout requires additional deadkeys on another layout - but trying to use key-combos to generate the input fails as they generate an even different input than expected

at least on splitgate when the layout changed the inputs on the game where like confused so they where all changed and i could not play i had to close the game and reopen

So… mouse and cats and questionable game design aside, a correctly configured keyboard will always return to its default layout when reconnecting.
1. how's the keyboard (layout) configured?
2. does the Xorg log indicate that the keyboard flickers (disappears and shows up again)
3. is a flickering keyboard, regardless of layout changes, tolerable with that game at all (cause otherwise you'll need to fix the hardware regardless of the configuration)

1. the keyboard layout was configured just from the settings application.
2. the keyboard is almost not anymore part of this it only changes because the mouse was disconnecting and reconnecting and i guess that changes the keyboard layout.
3. ive already fixed the mouse cord so it does not anymore flicker so.
Its already solved. It had nothing really to do with the keyboard it was hardware that was kind of broken and its fixed and everything work perfectly
