ip --color by default

I recall arch install had color by default on `ip`...

anyone knows how that was done there? simply an alias or some env var or some rc file not mention on man ip?

Re: ip --color by default

those PRs seem to be closed w/out merge. The comments indicate they prefer the alias https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux/ … requests/2

Looking on the archiso repo and not finding anything to that end https://github.com/archlinux/archiso/tree/master

Re: ip --color by default

The ip command in the installation environment has color because grml-zsh-config has an alias for it. See https://github.com/grml/grml-etc-core/b … 2482-L2485.

My personal opinion (which nobody asked for) is that the aforementioned merge request should have been accepted.

Re: ip --color by default

Thanks for the source of color on the live image shell.

I think a env var (and then placing the default on /etc/profile like for ls) would have been good middle ground and not offend anyone on that PR maybe
