Hi, all. I'm writing this post because I think there are some issues with the Realtek ALC287 codec on a lenovo Thinkbook 16p gen 5.
DISCLAIMER/PREMISE:
I've already faced a problem with the speaker's volume here https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 3#p2220983. The same question has been raised by someone on the Linux mint forum here https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic. … 2#p2583512.
Given the premise, and as suggested by someone in the mint's forum, I think this is enough to open an issue on the kernel bugzilla, and see if the corrections can be made to the driver. Moreover, the second issue I'm trying to solve is, in my opinion, confirming that this is a kernel-related problem.
In fact, the LEDs for the mute speakers and mute mic are both not working properly. I followed the procedure on the wiki wiki.archlinux.org/title/Laptop#Audio_mute_LED for 6 or 7 different drivers, since the ALC287 is missing. This has not brought any difference.
I am therefore writing here, to ask you:
- if you have some other solution for the LED problem in mind
- if you think this should be enough to open an issue on the kernel bugzilla. I've never compiled the kernel myself, so I am not sure if I'll be able to be helpful this way: it is clear that the driver has some issues anyway.
Thanks in advance for all the help
EDIT: The audio volume control problem has been solved with the latest update! No need to use the "homemade" software layer to control it, as proposed here https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 3#p2220983
