Read files off of GNOME network GUI without smbmount

I am able to drag and drop files form my windows share onto my Arch box. But i have problems when it comes to streaming music off of the network share. I locate the file and open with XMMS but it does not work. I will not that I have this issue with Ubuntu also. At first I thought it was just music files or XMMS but with I tried to open a picture file it would not open. The fix was to drag it over to the Arch box and play it locally. Well then I found out about smbmount. So far that is how I mount my windows shares. I works great but I wish I could just click on the file in GNOME instead of mounting the shared folder manualy Does anyone know how to make gnome stream music from windows shared folders instead of mounting the folder with smbmount.
