numlock is off even though light is on on bootup, and turns off on log

When i boot into hyprland,gnome,archlinux my numlock is off. also when i log into hyprland via gnome, my numlock turns off even if i manually turn it on.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

I have tried following:

And the light on my keyboard lights up, showing that numlock should be on, but i still have to press it again before gnome lets me use my numkeys
