Hello, I have been having this issue for quite a long while, I thought the 570 drivers would fix it, but they did not sadly.
I have a GTX 1660 Super, I am using KDE Plasma 6.3 on Wayland and my monitor is the ViewSonic XG2405.
This is a very odd problem, that doesn't seem to happen in Windows:
after throughly testing, Adaptive Sync works until my monitor turns off that is set in KDE, then after I wake up the monitor, it starts having issues when I go into fullscreen apps with Adaptive Sync on, it turns off and on and turns into a black screen with no input until I alt-tab out of said program. It seems that changing the monitor from 144hz to 120hz, then back to 144hz fixes the problem temporarily until the monitor goes to sleep/turns off again.
Would appreciate any ideas or help on this, it's really bothersome and I don't know what's meant to fix it at this point.

Hi, I recently switched to KDE Plasma Wayland because my X11 server exits out of no reason. I am now having the same problem as you described.

I believe this is a bug happening to a lot of people. For me, I can't help on fixing it. I will temporally disable adaptive sync and wait for an upstream fix.

Also on KDE Plasma/Wayland/Adaptive Sync/Nvidia GPU
I'm having the exact same problem - after the screen goes to sleep, running a full screen games turn that monitor black.
Your work around of changing the refresh rate to 120hz and back to 144hz also fixes it temporarily for me, until the next time the monitor goes to sleep.
I have an LG monitor, so I don't think it's the monitor brand.

I didn't have this problem on X11, but I'm not sure exactly which plasma version it started happening in. Maybe posting this in Applications & Desktop Environments would help?

True, gonna do that.
