Perhaps you should check out Larch live CD.
You will find it under USER CONTRIBUTIONS.
It allows the user to determine the programs he wishes to load and it permits a DVD sized Live Larch as well.
The scripts are avilable via user -producer Gradgrind and also Sigi has them at his web site.
I have a dual-layer DVD Larch with 7.7GB of data which works like a charm.
Prediction...This year will be a very odd year!

I also recommend using larch, gradgrinds scripts are really great if you want to build an Arch based LiveCD/DVD or USB.
See my sig for a link to larch.
One note: You should use the beyond-kernel on the Livesystem atm to avoid problems.
Haven't been here in a while. Still rocking Arch.

This thread might also provide helpful informations on this topic or be a good place to post questions (because gradgrind) if you shouldn't get an answer in this thread.

Sigi;
Looks like we might get some queries about Larch install in a 64bit machine for Crooksey....
