[SOLVED]Can't play GTA V Online even with the command

I can play story mode without any problems, but cannot play online for some reason. I've installed Proton BattlEye Runtime Launcher, and added
this command to my GTA V startup

PROTON_BATTLEYE_RUNTIME=" /home/moanteq/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Proton BattlEye Runtime/"  %command%

but it still doesn't work. I tried changing proton settings on steam too. First I changed it to 9.0-4 and tried to run it again, but it didn't work so I changed it back to proton hotfix, but it doesn't work this way too. I'm able to connect to an online lobby, but after a while I connect, battleye kicks me out of the game for no reason. Am I doing something wrong?

no - it's just rockstar giving a F* about linux and not enabling proton support for BE
it's not a problem of BE - it works fine on linux - see Arma3 as an example
just google for something like "rockstar gta v battleye linux" and you'll find enough press going over that R* just booted off linux players from gtavo - because they can
and honestly - although I got the game for free from a co-worker back then and wasted 100s if not 1.000s of hours into gtavo without ever paying any real money - I started early on to play only solo or grinding heists as playin in a public lobby is guarantee to encounter hackers - it really only makes sense if you have at least 3 other friends you can play missions with
although I haven't tried but I guess joining public RP custom servers should still work - but gtavo is dead - for about 10 years now - there's no corpse of a dead horse to be beaten for a long time - yet R* still milks new naive players wasting 100s of real life dollars into it

TLDR: R* booted linux by not enable BE support for proton

That's bs. It's not like they didn't have any players who played gta on a linux system, in fact I read yesterday that they lost 100k players after banning linux systems from gta servers. R* and Microsoft must've done some agreements behind closed doors. At least that's what I think.

Re: [SOLVED]Can't play GTA V Online even with the command

I'm with you - and hence BE is no issue on linux there would be a simple flick R* would need to do - but same as with ubicrap they not just don't want to - but somewhat actively against linux

it's often argued about that anti-cheat for proton is pointless because there's no kernel-level access - well, this video has it all: https://youtu.be/kzVYgg9nQis - kernel-level anti-cheats are pointless themselfs - it's a chicken and egg problem and same with virus devs vs anti-virus devs

along with that gtavo was developed with a p2p-netcode: there's no central server controlling the lobby - the R* servers only handle the authentication - the gamedata itself use a p2p network - so there's nothin preventing a hacker to teleport around or spawn in pretty much any asset - I remember early on when those 40k money bags were a thing - hackers just mass-dropped them all over the lobby and many players were either kicked due to the high amount of items collected was just too fast - or were banned outright
I even had one time a hacker somehow reversed the connection and was able to follow me into story mode after kicking me from an online lobby - boy, that was a scary moment

but: even it's said to be around 100k - from R*s point of view that's only a very small percentile from the millions of windows players - so they just don't care
the most backlash they got was from the steam deck community with headlines like "R* pulling gtav from the steam deck" and such - but as there're even less steam deck users and they themself make only a few percent of all linux gamers I guess you can figure out yourself: the number R* used was just buried down in the "less than 1%" - effectively nothing - so they just don't give a F* about us
