hi! i am using libreoffice writer from libreoffice-fresh 25.2.1-2 to write a paper including references. since recently (the latest 25.2.1 update i presume) i'm no longer able to create bibliography references from document content as the "type" field is mandatory but cannot be filled since there are no options to choose from. this was not the case before and i was able to choose the type of my reference.
global bibliography database seems not to be affected and i can create new entries and select the type there, however i do not want to add data to that database - i wish to keep the references only in that one document, not globally.
references that were already created have their type filled in and it can be changed, but no new ones work.
here is a screenshot of editing an existing bibliography reference: https://0x0.st/8My-.png
here is a screenshot of making a new bibliography reference: https://0x0.st/8MJ7.png <- the type field cannot be filled
the document format is odt. i can reproduce it on an old file, but also by making a new document, selecting references > bibliography entry > select "document content" > new > try to change type.
i can reproduce this in safe mode as well, however i am not sure if this is arch-specific or an upstream bug, i could not find anything about this.
here are details from "about libreoffice":
