How to prevent unlocked screen from being shown after lid is opened?

I have a Lenovo laptop and I'm running Xorg (and Arch Linux ofc) on it.

Here is my issue: if the screen turned off due to inactivity (or because of me simply running xset dpms force off) and if I've closed the laptop lid afterwards, when I open it the unlocked screen contents will flash for a brief period of time (but certainly visible) before the screen locker is shown.
It makes no difference if the screen was already locked before it turned off.
If the lid was closed when the screen was not turned off there is no such issue, irrespective of the fact was the screen already locked or not.

How can I prevent the unlocked screen contents from being shown in such a scenario?
There are situations I absolutely require this to not happen.

It may be worthy of notice: if I run xset dpms force off && xset s activate there is a similar issue: the screen is turned off, then on, but the screen locker is not shown at all until some user activity is detected (like pressing a key or just moving the mouse), and then it is shown immediately.
Conversely, running xset dpms force off && xset dpms force on displays no issues at all: the screen is turned off, then on and the screen locker is shown immediately.
