Hi.
I've installed arch_x64 alongside windows xp on a drive.
I have 2 other drives that I want to share between the two OS's and i want to join them together using RAID0. I've set up RAID0 in the BIOS and when i boot it is reported as healthy. To be able to access this in windows all i had to do was install the NVIDIA RAID controller.
I'm slightly confused about how to do this in linux, because seeing as it's hardware RAID, both the hard drives are visible as /dev/sdb and /dev/sdc. I would have thought linux would have detected the drive as just one drive... no? Even still, the device /dev/md0 doesn't appear so i'm just wondering what the next step is.
I think i just need a shove in the right direction...
Cheers

Linux doesn't really like fake hardware RAID like most cheap controllers or mainboards offer, so I don't think this would work.

Which kernel are you using?
I have a via hardware raid controller that is in charge of my sata drives (even though they aren't actually arrayed) and I had tons of problems with it for kernel 2.6.18 and 2.6.19. When I upgraded to 2.6.20 though, everything seemed to clear up. If you're not already running 2.6.20, it might clear up your problems...

Funnily enough the raid array was just one block device until i upgraded to 2.6.20.
Well so i think anyway.
