[Solved] LibreOffice: Text cursor in specific file dialogue missing

If i open a new file in LibreOfiice and use "File save as" the text cursor is shown in the file name edit box. All fine. If i open an existing file and choose "Save as" the text cursor is invisible in the file name edit box mad The latter happens regardless if i open the file from a file manger or open the file within LibreOffice's "Recent files".

Searching the web there are similar issues all proposing setting a different theme in "Options->View" or to disable hardware acceleration or edge smoothing but this doesn't solve the issue for me.

I am using KDE Plasma in an X11 session. Other GTK applications work fine, e.g. Gimp.

Any hints?

LO still or fresh?
Do the dialogs otherwise look the same?

LO is supposed to use the KDE file dialogs?
What happens if you change the SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN (rty eg. "generic"?)?

I had changed the file

/etc/profile.d/libreoffice-still.sh

but did not know that a re-login was required to apply those change… I am using SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=qt6 now which seems to fix this ominous issue.

SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=kf6 which i assumed also to be something kde-Plasma related, does not fix this.

Thanks for the hints!
