As in the topic.
I have been using VirtualBox from the extra repository for a long time.
Now suddenly I have a strange behavior.
When opening the application, it appears in the taskbar but the main application window does not appear.
Tried with XFCE / LightDM / X11:
- Rightclick taskbar -> Always on top
- Rightclick taskbar -> Maximse / Minimize
- Rightclick taskbar -> Always on Top
- Rightclick taskbar -> Always on visible workspace
- Rightclick taskbar -> Always on this workspace
- Rightclick taskbar -> Move ( get the move cursor but no window to move)
- Start in console -> No console output
- Uninstall package, reinstall package
No luck.
I am not sure what started the problems. I played around with my gfx-drivers and installed and uninstalled
a lot of NVIDIA-stuff lately. Might have something to do with this. I asume the window might be "stuck" on a desktop/screen that is
not available anymore. I have a shortcut to an existing VM. It's window does appear properly when started from the shortcut.
Any idea on how to get the VirtualBox main window back?
Thank you very much!

I managed to make the application window reappear by removing all my virtual machines from virtualbox.xml.
After that VirtualBox freezed when trying to read them with the GUI "Machine -> Add".
I installed the Oracle Version of Virtualbox from AUR which was able to start, import my machines and run them.
Still don't know what is the root cause of this issue but I have a workaround now.
I would like to switch back to the Open Source version if possible, so if anyone finds a solution it would be greatly appreciated.
