Hello everyone,
I have been getting the "Microcode SW error detected. Restarting 0x0" for about four months now. and when the error occurs, I loose my WIFI connection, and have to restart the system to reconnect back. At first the issue was occurring when my laptop was further from the router, hence the signal was not as strong (around < -60 dbm), but when close to the router, and the signal was in the range of -30 dbm, the error was not happening.
Now, I have observed the error happening when I open certain applications, like chrome, or when I start using the gpu, or rather when it goes from D3Cold to D0.
I have seen various posts of a similar error, such as this one (https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=254766), and have tried adding the options that are applicable to my card such as
options iwlwifi 11n_disable=1 swcrypto=0 power_save=0
options iwlwifi uapsd_disable=1but when they have helped in not getting the error on boot, the error still occurs as before when the gpu is started or also when the computer goes to sleep and comes back on
I have also tried setting
pcie_aspm=off as a kernel parameter, as had been suggested in one of the posts, but this caused the error to happen immediately on boot.
Also, as described in the Arch Wiki (https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Networ … are_issues) I did try downgrading the linux-firmware, and at some point I had downgraded all my packages to a certain date of about 5 months ago, thinking I had messed up something but the issue was actually more present in the downgraded versions.
I had also tried the linux-zen and linux-lts kernels at some point but the error also occured in them.
The kernel I am currently using
output of (uname -rv)
