I have an issue with sddm-greeter on a fresh Arch install. When the greeter screen appears, no user input appears to register. Keyboard input is not echoed (i.e., when entering the user password, the dots for the hidden characters do not appear). the text cursor in the password field does not blink, and trying to select the session or layout does not change. The mouse pointer moves in response to mouse movement, and if I type in the correct password I can start my Xwayland session. However, if I switch to another virtual console and then return to the sddm-greeter on TTY2 things work correctly.
I don't see anything in journalctl, and the localectl has been set up to define a keyboard layout and model. Can anyone suggest where I should look next?
